A Walk by Lucy Baird.

This “Coastal Landscapes around Red Bank” walk (W3) follows the coast from Red Bank Farm to Hest Bank Foreshore. This will allow you to explore landscape features including drumlins, glacial till and erratic rocks, saltmarsh morphology, coastal erosion and industrial archaeology. The walk is being led by Lucy Baird who trained in Physical Geography at Aberystwyth University and now works as a National Trust guide at Wray Castle in the Lake District. She lives in Hest Bank and has a special interest in the coastal and glacial geomorphology of the north Lancashire coast between Hest Bank and Warton. The walk is about 2 miles long with very small and gentle ascents. We will be walking over saltmarsh which can be uneven with pools and channels to cross. The event should finish by 4.30pm.  Well behaved dogs on leads may attend. As the number of participants is limited to 20, booking is essential.
