CANCELLED Spring Lecture: Chris Winnick “Saving Cumbria’s Butterflies” CANCELLED

With guest speaker, Chris Winnick, Chair of Butterfly Conservation Cumbria as well as Branch Organiser for both BC Cumbria and BC Lancashire.

We are fortunate within the Arnside and Silverdale AONB to be able to see over 40 of Britain’s 50 or so species of butterfly either within the AONB itself or only a short distance away in the southern Lake District. The local area is home to some of the UK rarest species. In this extended evening event, Chris Winnick will provide a detailed look at most of Cumbria’s butterfly species, concentrating in particular on special projects being undertaken by Butterfly Conservation, targeted at helping conserve and protect future populations of our rarest ones.

The evening will run from 7.30pm – 9.30pm, including a short break for refreshments.

No booking is required for this event, which is free and open to all.
