SUMMARY:Coldwell BioBlitz!
DESCRIPTION:A 24 hour wildlife survey! \n\nWe’re celebrating National Meadows Day with a BioBlitz at our Coldwell Horseshoe reserves\, from 6pm on Friday 30th June to 6pm on Saturday 1st July 2023. \nJoin us as we undertake the challenge of surveying as many species as possible in a 24-hour period. \nWe’ll be set up in the reserve for the whole 24 hours\, so come along\, learn about wildlife recording and see if you can help us spot any new species. \nWe have talks and survey events organised as part of the event\, which must be pre-booked via the AONB EventBrite page: \n\n30th June\, 10pm – Bat Walk with Gail Armstrong \n1st July\, 9am – Moth Trap with Peter Stevens \n1st July\, 11am – Insect Life with Steve Garland \n1st July\, 1pm – Wildflower Walk with Lynne Farrell \n1st July\, 3pm – Conservation Grazing with Bill Grayson \nTo book places\, on any of these events\, please visit the BioBlitz listing on the AONB Partnership website.

SUMMARY:Weekend Event: An Extraordinary Place
DESCRIPTION:Developing the theme of Our AONB – An Extraordinary Place\, the Landscape Trust has invited local conservation and heritage organisations to join us in a weekend of events\, showcasing the work that goes into protecting\, improving and enhancing the AONB for the benefit of all. \nA joint exhibition will be held throughout the weekend in the Arnside Educational Institute\, from 10am to 5pm each day\, with refreshments available throughout the weekend from Wagtail Catering.  Saturday morning will also feature talks from 10:30am by Lucy Barron (AONB Partnership)\, Craig McCoy (National Trust) and Glen Swainson (Natural England). \nIn addition\, there will be a number of walks held throughout the weekend to tie into this event: \nFriday 13 September (2pm) \n\nEP6: Mawson’s Garden (Brian Smith\, owner)\n\nSaturday 14 September (all walks start at 2pm) \n\nEP1: Gait Barrows and Hawes Water (Glen Swainson\, Natural England)\nEP2: Grubbins Wood (Jamie Normington\, Cumbria Wildlife Trust)\nEP3: Arnside Knott (Craig McCoy\, National Trust)\nEP4: Swift Sites of Arnside (Peter Moreton\, Swifts in the Community)\n\nSunday 15 September \n\nEP7: Kent Estuary Natural History (Lynne Farrell\, naturalist)  [NB: 10am start]\nEP5: Mawson’s Garden (Brian Smith\, owner) [2pm]\n\nTo book on any of these walks\, please email bookings@landscapetrust.org.uk\, giving the name and contact details of each person wishing to attend\, together with whether or not they are a member of the Landscape Trust.

SUMMARY:Exhibition of Paintings by the late Muriel Harrison
DESCRIPTION:The Trust is delighted to be able to offer this Retrospective of the Work of the late Muriel Harrison\, by generous donation from Miss June Harrison and family. \nThis exhibition of flower paintings will be held in the office of the AONB Partnership\, by kind permission of the manager\, Lucy Barron\, and her staff. \nThe Trust will be offering the paintings for sale by sealed tender with a reserve of £25 per painting. In the event of the same amount being offered by more than one bidder for the same painting\, the winning bid will be drawn by lot.  All proceeds will go to our Building Our Reserves Appeal Fund. \nOpening hours: 10.00am – 1.00pm; 2.00pm – 4.00pm daily. \n
