W2 – Beetham Geotrail (North)

This walk, led by Duncan Woodcock, will visit Fairy Steps, the 1821 enclosure wall, Dallam Park and Heron Corn Mill before returning to Beetham village. This will allow you to explore landscape features including Urswick limestone scars, Woodbine Shale, various erratics, drumlins, dolines and ponds.

W3 – Coastal Landscapes around Red Bank

This walk, led by Lucy Beard, follows the coast from Red Bank Farm to Hest Bank Foreshore. This will allow you to explore landscape features including drumlins, glacial till and erratic rocks, saltmarsh morphology, coastal erosion and industrial archaeology.

This walk, led by John and Jill Webb, will visit visit Jack Scout, Jenny Brown's Point and Heald Brow. The primary focus of the walk will be migratory birds, including warblers on the National Trust properties and wetland birds on the estuary.

Exhibition: The Natural Wonders of the Arnside & Silverdale AONB

Arnside Cemetery Chapel Silverdale Road, Arnside

As part of the Landscape Trust contribution to this year's Silverdale and Arnside Art and Craft Trail, we will be hosting an exhibition of photographs by Ken Kitchen, as well as a display by the Bittern Country Community Interest Company with a promotion on reducing the usage of plastics.

W7 – Recording the Visual Landscape (A Personal Sketchbook)

This is a walk with a difference in that participants will each be invited to create a personal sketchbook of the walk, exploring the area around Far Arnside, examining and recording geological features and landscapes from modern to medieval. No artistic skills are required!

W8 – Managing for Butterflies on Arnside Knott

Chris Winnick will lead a walk over Arnside Knott looking at the butterflies and how the area is managed for priority species, such as the High Brown Fritillary, which hopefully will be in flight on the day.

Annual General Meeting 2019

W9 – Fell End Nature Reserve

Join us on a visit to the AONB's newest reserve at Fell End Caravan Park, to look at butterflies and other wildlife, and to learn about the management and development of the reserve.

W6 – The Secrets of Silverdale (RESCHEDULED)

A walk by Ann Turnbull across the sands from Silverdale to Gibralter Farm, hearing history of the seaward part of the village. This will be followed by an exploration of the southern area of Silverdale.

If you prefer to book via email, please contact us at bookings@landscapetrust.org.uk.  Your request will be dealt with as quickly as possible but please be aware that orders entered via the online system (where available) may be processed ahead of your request.  In cases when there are only two or three places left you will always stand the best chance of securing the places you want by using the online booking option, if this is offered.

For our bookable events, the precise start location and details  will normally only be released to those with confirmed bookings.   This information will be sent by email either with the booking confirmation, or communicated to you by telephone if you have not provided an email contact address.
